Geoffrey W Boyle

eLearning Designer & Developer

Successful design rests on keeping the user in mind.

User Data

I believe in using data-driven methods to design learning products. Data on the learner's previous experiences, skills, and attitudes are critical to building an effective learning product. My thoughts on data gathering can be found here.

Learner Types

Building in options for different learner types will result in a more robust product with a larger pool of successful users. My thoughts on learner types can be found here.

Prototype to Finished Product

Prototypes allow the designer to see rather than predict the reaction of the learner to the learning product. When used early in the design process, wasted time and expense are avoided. Two rounds of prototyping and feedback and a designer can really zero in on what learners need in the final product.

Three gears represent the interaction of user data, user feedback, and prototyping to refine the learning products
